Approximately 160 miles northwest of Austin, our ranch house offers spectacular views of the Texas Hill country and a relaxing environment that allows you to leave city life far behind. Built in the 1890s, it offers guests a memorable nature experience with plenty of native and migratory birds, deer, turkey, and sometimes fox and bobcats. You will delight at the superb star gazing, pristine silence, and native habitat that is all yours.
Guests love going for a walk on our ranch. We have 7,000 acres which offer you plenty of space and privacy. The ranch house is located on property that has been in the same family since the early 1800s and our guests are encouraged to walk, ride (bring your bike) and enjoy the serenity of the area at their leisure. You are encouraged to bring a wireless telephone as there is no phone on the premises. The Ranch House at Calf Creek has three bedrooms, two with double beds and one with twin beds, and two bathrooms. There is a living room, dining room, kitchen, and pantry. A washer and dryer are also included for your convenience. Two window air conditioning and heating units keep the ranch house comfortable in any climate.
The kitchen is fully stocked with spices, paper products, ice trays and coffee. All utensils, dishes, pots, pans, dishwasher, microwave, blender, etc. are furnished, as well as an outdoor grill. Guests need only bring what they intend to eat and drink. The dining room provides ample seating. Towels and linens are all provided. You will want to spend a lot of time on our comfortable screened-in porch at the front of the house. Through the giant oak trees you will be able to look over the hillside and beyond. Relax in the yard enjoy the gentle breezes and the sounds of nature at its finest.
ATTENTION: We have added new facilities to the ranch house site. The bunkhouse is now available to rent: A renovated authentic bunkhouse has been modernized and will sleep 3 guests. There are 2 bedrooms, one has a single twin bed and the other has a double bed. They are cooled by 2 window units. A bathroom with an original claw foot tub, a small kitchenette with a microwave, small frig and sink, and a seating area complete the facilities. It is small, cozy, charming and is only $30 per night per person.
Rates and Information: $30 per person for extra adults. $10 for children 12-17 No extra charge for children under 12. During hunting season, guests are not permitted to go beyond the restricted area. After hunting season, guests are permitted to hike where they desire. Cancellation Policy: We require five days notice to cancel a reservation with no charge. Unless you cancel seven days prior to your reservation, you are charged in full.
